Strategy Session

A focused 90-minute working session to bring clarity to your business development efforts and identify exactly what to focus on next.

You’ll leave with a clear direction—not more ideas.

If you’re ready to bring structure to your business development efforts:

Why This Exists

Most IP lawyers don’t struggle with understanding business development.

They struggle with execution.

They know they should be doing more but without a clear structure, priorities get lost in the day-to-day demands of practice.

A Strategy Session is designed to fix that.  It is a focused, 90-minute working session where we apply the Practice Development Framework directly to your situation to create clarity and direction.

What We Work On

Every session is tailored, but typically includes:

  • Clarifying your current business development approach

  • Identifying gaps in visibility, relationships, or execution

  • Mapping your strongest opportunities for growth

  • Prioritizing what actually deserves your time

  • Translating ideas into a realistic action plan

You leave with clarity on what to do next—not just ideas.

How It Works

  1. Pre-Session Intake You complete a short questionnaire to outline your current situation and challenges.

  2. Strategy Session (90 minutes) We work through your responses using the Practice Development Framework to diagnose gaps and identify focus areas.

This is a good fit if you:

  • feel busy but inconsistent with business development

  • know what you “should” be doing but don’t follow through consistently

  • want clarity before committing to longer-term coaching

  • are ready to approach BD in a more structured way

This is not a fit if you are looking for:

  • quick marketing tactics

  • generic career advice

  • or a high-level conversation without implementation

Outcome

  • A clearer understanding of your current BD approach

  • A prioritized focus for where to spend your time

  • A simple, actionable direction forward

  • Reduced overwhelm and increased confidence in your next steps

Why Now?

Most lawyers don’t need more time to think about business development. They need a clear direction so they can start executing.

Delaying this clarity usually means:

  • more scattered effort

  • more inconsistency

  • and slower practice growth

  • This session is designed to shorten that cycle.
